Ref No: SH0496
This piece is a mid century, sterling silver serving tray by Sanborns, Mexico.
When Frank Sanborn found a lack of quality silversmithing in Mexico in the 1920’s, despite Mexico leading the world in silver production, he set out to bring a new world competitor to the industry. By the 1940s Sanborn’s annual sales in silverwork came to $250,000 and 10 years later was the biggest silver shop in Mexico. This piece is a testament to the company’s dedication to quality and design.
