French Glass and Bronze Vase Attributed to Marcel Bing

A turn-of-the-century French art nouveau glass and bronze vase attributed to Marcel Bing of famed Parisian store La Maison de l’Art Nouveau. Marcel, the son of l’Art Nouveau founder Sigfried Bing, was primarily known for his work as a jeweller with the company. However in Victor Arwas book "Art Nouveau: The French Aesthetic", and in the fifth volume of Alistair Duncans "The Paris Salons", Marcel is identified as a contributor of metal works to the Maison de l’Art Nouveau. With incredibly refined detail in the wood grain and flowers of the bronze overlay, the piece displays features typical of Marcel Bings work.
