Gary Major Douglas

Gary Major Douglas

Gary Major Douglas is a speaker, author, eccentric, and world traveler, who started collecting when he was 19 years old and got addicted to the beauty and rarity of the truly unique. Now more than seventy, his personal collection in Houston, Texas, has gotten so large that it was stored more than enjoyed; and since his kids had no interest, he determined that the rest of the world should have the opportunity to enjoy what has brought him great pleasure.

Christopher Hughes

Christopher Hughes

According to Christopher, collecting is the worse addiction you could possibly have. He confesses to being a serious case with his affliction drawing him like a bower bird to silver, Art Deco, and finds most things Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau completely irresistible.  As the managing director of The Antique Guild in Brisbane, he has immersed himself in each object there giving him an intimate knowledge of the pieces and periods they came from. In his words, “Every piece has a story and a road map built into it giving the owner a profound insight into the journey it is on and the lives it has been a part of.” Along with Joshua O’Donnell, Christopher has a major role in The Antique Guild’s published articles, and the online Journal that is a major feature of this website.
